One of the shows that I watch on television is Tyler Perry’s “The Haves and Have Nots”. On this show you get to see the good, the bad, and the ugly side of things. This is how you end a season….WITH A BANG!!! Last season ended showing the bad….real bad; BUT good for us viewers (lol). I’m posting a clip of how the show ended (so enter at your OWN risk). You’re going to have to catch up on your OWN but in this particular clip, Katheryn invites Veronica and the DA to her home and then does the unimaginable when she confronts and murders the DA in front of Veronica. The new season begins tonight on OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network). I got this note from Tyler Perry yesterday:

Hey TJ,

WELL HERE WE GO!! Happy New Year my people! Tomorrow, Tuesday January 3rd at 9/8c The Haves And The Have Nots returns to OWN!! Y’all ready!!

I hope you get caught up into the web of Tyler Perry on this fantastic show about “The Haves and Have Nots”…..

For those of you who are waiting on Season 6 of The Haves and Have Nots to return, the wait is almost over. On Tuesday, January 3, 2017 we will get a chance to see what Tyler Perry is cooking up for us. Season 5 ended with such a bang that it is a no-brainer for all of us fans to be sitting on the edge of our seats in anticipation. For those of you that have no idea what I’m talking about, trust me on this one……..You need to go to youtube.com or on-demand or whatever way you can to get caught up. Tyler has several dramas playing out on OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) that are worth watching but…..The Haves and Have Nots are most definitely my favorites. Above is a trailer for the upcoming season. Tell me what you think.

The Passion

I got this email from Tyler Perry this morning.  Check it out and click on the link below if you’re interested in going or participating:

Hey TJ,

So next weekend I will be hosting and narrating The Passion, live on FOX. When I was asked to do this I thought, “wait a second, FOX is gonna do what?” If you’re like me at that time, then you’re wondering “what is The Passion?” Well, let me try to explain. It’s not a musical like Grease or The Wiz, this is the story of Jesus Christ’s last hours on earth, told as if He were on earth today. It’s a biblical story told in modern times, set to some of today’s most popular songs preformed throughout and all around New Orleans. There will also be people, like you and me, carrying a 20-foot illuminated cross through the streets. Talk about letting your little light shine.

The reason I wanted to be involved was because I was shocked to find out how many people in this country don’t know the story of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. I was also shocked at the amount of people under 25 who don’t believe in anything. Our world has changed so much.

But The Passion is an amazing opportunity to retell this amazing story. My prayer and hope is that it opens a dialogue that starts a revival all over this country.

The Passion is about love, inclusion and compassion for all mankind. It’s for believers and also nonbelievers. It’s for all faiths and all backgrounds. This story doesn’t just belong to one group, it belongs to humanity. Love, forgiveness and compassion, those are things that are universal to us all. We all need them and The Passion will deliver it right into your home. When was the last time you can say you turned on the TV and that happened?

I’m calling on my audience and believers all over this country to help support this show. Please help us send a message to Hollywood that we want to see more TV shows that leave us lifted, inspired and changed. Shows that leave us hopeful.

I want to also say thank you to FOX and the creator and producers of The Passion. Thank you for bringing some balance to TV.

And I also want to say thank you to YOU. I hope you will watch and pray for us and this show. It can be quite special if we all get behind it in spirit and in faith.

If you want to see it live in New Orleans or help literally carry the cross through the streets, you can click on this link. Tickets are free here: http://thepassion.com/participate/

God bless,

If you’re a fan of this show, I know you’re like me and can’t wait for it to start again.  Well…… tomorrow night we get to see what we are all waiting for.  The drama begins again on January 5, 2016 @ 9 on OWN.  This season, I think I’m going to blog about the shows.  Tell me what you think and what direction do you think this show is going in this year?

The Haves And Have Nots Season 4 will begin on June 30, 2015.  For all of you that are ready and waiting, I’m posting a clip of the upcoming season. Also, check out the season 3 recap so you can be reminded of all that happened to get us to this point.  Get ready, Get set, Go…………………………

I know this is not what a lot of you are expecting but if you stay with me here, you will really enjoy this.  As I’ve said before, I am on Tyler Perry’s mailing list.  He sent out this letter yesterday and if you read it, I think you will really enjoy his perspective here.  I was really blessed by it and I’m hoping you will be as well.

Hey TJ

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day, and she was explaining to me how disappointed she was in people and the things that they do and have done to her. She went on and on about how upset and heartbroken she was, and has been, about some of her family and friends. She talked about how they hurt her and how she wished they would change and be better people. She wanted them to be different than the people they were.

Halfway through this complaint-a-thon, I asked her to take a walk with me in the backyard. Now, you have to know this particular friend of mine. She hates the heat, and it was a hot day. I said, “come on” so she reluctantly came with me.

We got outside and it was steaming hot. I could see that she was uncomfortable. Nevertheless, we kept walking around my backyard. As she was still complaining about people, I asked her what she thought of my grass. Mind you, in order to appreciate the grass you had to stand in the direct sunlight. She said “Wow, I love your grass. It’s beautiful, but it’s hot right here. Let’s cool off under that oak tree over there.”

So, as she started to walk to the tree I said, “No no, let’s stay here in the grass and cool off.”

She turned to me quickly and said, “We can’t cool off on this grass.”

Right then, I said to her, “But you just said the grass was beautiful.”

“I did” she replied. Then, I asked her, “Why won’t you stay here?” She said, because she was hot and the grass couldn’t cool her off. So, we walked over to the oak tree and sat there.

She said, “Now you see? This is what I needed.”

Then I asked her this question. “The grass was beautiful. You loved it. Why didn’t you get mad with the grass because it couldn’t provide the shade you wanted?

She was confused, so I went on to explain myself. “People in this world, whether they were created a certain way or became that way through life’s circumstances, are who they are. Stop wishing they will be someone else.”

I said, “The next time you get upset with someone because they can’t do, or can’t be what you want them to be, remember the grass. Never get mad at a blade of grass because it’s not a tree. Appreciate the grass for what it is. Let it provide to you what it can, but don’t expect more. Your life will get so much easier when you start letting people be who they are and stop expecting them to give you what they don’t have or don’t know how to give. Just like that grass couldn’t provide shade because it wasn’t made to, some people are not made to give you what you’re asking for. So, stop looking for it. You will be shocked at how much peace you find when you really get this.”

And the last thing I said to her was this. “You wouldn’t be so frustrated with people who are like the grass if you had more people who are like trees in your life.”

I could really go deep into this, but I gotta go back to work. Talk to me. What do you think?

Love y’all. Talk soon.

Just in case you haven’t been watching Tyler Perry’s “The Haves and Have Nots” on OWN, let me tell you… YOU have been missing it.  This season, like the rest is sure to keep you on the edge of your seats from week to week.  I’m usually a reality tv person but between “The Haves and Have Nots” and Fox’s “Empire”, I’m slowly getting back into sitcoms.  If you like good tv suspense and drama, I would encourage you to check out both of these shows.  Here’s a sneak peak of what went down last week on “The Haves and Have Nots”.

Today is January 1,2015. I am starting the year just like I ended it… PRAISING GOD for all that HE has done. I am on Tyler Perry’s mailing list (no, I don’t personally know him). He sent out the following email today. Check it out:

Hey TJ,

I was driving in my car today and had my iPod on shuffle. I have thousands of songs but this one brought tears to my eyes. It’s so appropriate for the new year. Read the lyrics and buy this song if you can. It’s powerful.
“Dear God” by Smokie Norful
[Verse 1:]
It feels so good to make it this far

And I didn’t think I could take it so long

There were days I wanted to quit

I said surely this is it

But I held on

And I watched as so called friends turn and walk away

It hurt so much I didn’t have words to say

But even when my day turns to night and nothing seems just right

Lord I thank you for, for my life
For my life, Lord I thank you

For every victory in you I’ve seen

And all the moments I know it was you who kept me

So I thank you for, for my life
[Verse 2:]
And I watched you take my family from there to here

And when times were a lil rough God I know you were near

And the moments I thought I failed I was reminded of your nails

So I held on

And if I never live to see another day

There is nothing I would change or take away
I’ve had so many ups

That they far out way my downs

Lord I thank you for my life
[back to chorus]
[Verse 3:]
I realized some didn’t make it…

I could’ve been one of the ones who lost my way

And there were times Lord I know I almost went crazy

But I’m still here, with my life
[back to chorus]
It may not be all that I’d hoped for

And every dream has not yet been realized

But to see your face one day God

I know it’s all gonna be worth it
[Verse 4:]
So I thank you

Thank you for every mountain every valley

God every thing you brought me through

Thank you!

I know I know it was you

Just wanna take the time to say thank you Jesus for my life
