NANCY REAGAN DIES @94 YEARS OLD

After seeing an article just this morning about Ronald Reagan’s son supporting some candidate, I immediately thought about Nancy Reagan.  I wondered if she had passed and I somehow missed it.  I was surprised to say the least when I looked on my computer just moments ago and found out that she died today.  She was 94 years old.  My condolences to the Reagan Family.  “Mrs. Reagan will be buried At the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley California next to her husband, Ronald Wilson Reagan, who died June 5, 2004.  Prior to the funeral services there will be an opportunity for members of the public to pay their respects at the library, according to Joanne Drake, her spokeswoman of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

Condolences from President Barack Obama and first lady Michele Obama:

Nancy Reagan once wrote that nothing could prepare you for living in the White House. She was right, of course. But we had a head start, because we were fortunate to benefit from her proud example, and her warm and generous advice. Our former First Lady redefined the role in her time here. Later, in her long goodbye with President Reagan, she became a voice on behalf of millions of families going through the depleting, aching reality of Alzheimer’s, and took on a new role, as advocate, on behalf of treatments that hold the potential and the promise to improve and save lives. We offer our sincere condolences to their children, Patti, Ron, and Michael, and to their grandchildren. And we remain grateful for Nancy Reagan’s life, thankful for her guidance, and prayerful that she and her beloved husband are together again.

MICHELLE OBAMA STUNS AT STATE DINNER

First Lady Michelle Obama was runway ready in this Carolina Herrera liberty blue gown that she wore to the state diner yesterday. This woman can wear just about anything and make it look amazing. The dinner honored French President Francois Hollande. According to Susan Swimmer, author of “Michelle Obama: First Lady of Fashion and Style”, the formal, ornate style of the sumptuous gown by Carolina Herrera reflected French aesthetics, from the intricate beaded black bodice, to the train and full skirt in a color called liberty blue.
“From the White House to Versailles it’s not that far,” said Swimmer, who is also contributing fashion features editor for More magazine. “It’s much more keeping in a French aesthetic than I’ve seen her wear before. It’s very French in terms of how ornate it is and the use of lace and the velvet sash.”
If I’m to put in layman’s terms what Susan Swimmer is saying is that: Michelle Obama was looking goooooooooooood. Amen! and Amen! President Obama, I have to give it to you, you’ve got great taste.

Michelle Obama chose a Venezuelan-American designer for the gown she wore Tuesday to the state dinner honoring French President Francois Hollande.
