I’m lighting this candle for the families of all the victims of the senseless massacre in Orlando. I’m not going to recall all of the sordid details of this senseless crime because you can see this on every TV channel. Hate never wins and LOVE NEVER DIES!
Do you remember the name Rachael Dolezal? She is the woman who was president of the Seattle, Washington NAACP. She garnered national attention when her biological parents told the world that she was white and not black as she had been pretending.
Let us fast forward to recent news and Shaun King. King has been a very noticeable face of the Black Lives Matter development since the police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO. King has been accused of not being black as he has claimed. After this information made the news, CNN’s Don Lemon reported that a “family member” had given information that King’s parents are both white. Is this déjà vu? Shaun King as a baby (on the right)
The report mentioned a birth certificate obtained from the Kentucky Office of Vital Statistics that lists King’s father as Jeffery Wayne King, who is also white. King has fired back at these accusations by saying that he is in fact biracial. He has also defended his Oprah Scholarship to attend Morehouse College, a historically black school. He indicates that he did not lie about his race to obtain the scholarship.
Shaun King as a sophomore in high school
King recently addressed this entire situation by issuing the following statement:
I refuse to speak in detail about the nature of my mother’s past, or her sexual partners, and I am gravely embarrassed to even be saying this now, but I have been told for most of my life that the white man on my birth certificate is not my biological father and that my actual biological father is a light-skinned black man. My mother and I have discussed her affair. She was a young woman in a bad relationship and I have no judgment. This has been my lived reality for nearly 30 of my 35 years on earth. I am not ashamed of it, or of who I am—never that—but I was advised by my pastor nearly 20 years ago that this was not a mess of my doing and it was not my responsibility to fix it. All of my siblings and I have different parents. I’m actually not even sure how many siblings I have.
What do you think about this interesting story? Why does race matter so much? Is race the issue here? When will all of this madness stop?
Suspects pictured above from left to right Christian Colon 19, Jonathan Lucas 18, Kaheem Arbelo 20, Desiray Strickland 18. Arbelo and Strickland are said to have stayed behind at the scene to have sex.
I got the following article from Daily Mail.com website and this crime is simply atrocious. There is not a punishment good enough for these monsters who took the life of this young man. The fact that they lured him into the woods and began to cut him up was bad enough but they then…. buried him alive. I have no more words… Check out the article below:
Four Miami, Florida students allegedly hacked a 17-year-old boy to near death with a Machete then buried him alive before two of the teens had sex near the grisly scene.
Desiray Strickland, 18, was arrested on Wednesday making her the fourth suspect charged in the killing of Jose Amaya Guardado, 17, on June 28.
Kaheem Arbelo, 20, Jonathan Lucas, 18, and Christian Colon, 19, confessed to the murder last week following their arrest, said Miami-Dade police.
Arbelo is a suspected drug dealer at the school. Police expect to arrest a fifth in conjunction with the killing.
Jose Amaya Guardado 17, killed
The Miami Herald likened the arrest report to a scene from the novel Lord of the Flies in which a group of teenagers hunt each other like animals.
The report states that at one point Strickland became angry at the other suspects when they started allegedly hacking the boy to death without her.
She, ‘complained that she had missed the first series of machete strikes because she had walked away for a few minutes to urinate in the woods,’ according to the arrest report.
‘The victim made one last attempt to fight off the attackers,’ a detective wrote, ‘at which time, (Arbelo) struck the victim with the machete several more times until the victim’s face caved in.’
Police say that after the students buried Guardado that Strickland stayed behind with the supposed ringleader of the group Kaheem Arbelo to have sex near the murder scene before going back to the Homestead Job Corps school campus.
Authorities say the students are a part of a known group of bullies at the live-in school and vocational training program run by the U.S. Department of Labor.
Arbelo is an alleged school drug dealer and attack is thought to have stemmed from a debt owed to Arbelo from Guardado.
The school is a program aimed at helping students get high school diplomas along with teaching them skills like masonry and office administration.
‘Safety and security is our top priority,’ said a labor department spokesman.
‘Steps already have been taken to strengthen security at the Homestead center, and Job Corps is reviewing safety and security at all its centers,’ said spokesman Stephen Barr.
Barr said he was ‘deeply saddened’ by the death and would be offering counseling for students.
Jose went missing on June 28 and was found in the woods days later by his brothers who saw two feet in a burned area, reports The New York Daily News.
‘The body was unrecognizable and decomposed,’ cousin Ana Morales wrote on a family fundraising page.
‘His brothers could not resist to see the body. They were crazy with grief hoping it was not Jose.’
Arbelo, Lucas and Colon confessed on video to the killings, but Strickland was not cooperative.
She tried to pick her handcuffs off with screw from a nearby electrical outlet and also head butted an officer.
She etched, ‘MPD Go to Hell’ on the table in the interview room, say police.
Guardado is described as being a shy and ‘peaceful young man.’
‘A crime is bad, but what Jose suffered was horrible,’ wrote his cousin Ana Morales.
Walter Scott once said, “Oh, what a tangled web we weave…when first we practice to deceive.” That statement is so relevant when it comes to this situation.
Former tight end #84 Buster Barnett of the Buffalo Bills was married to Sandra Barnett. Buster also was in the midst of a 4-year affair with Lisa Brown.
Brown, 49, from Lithonia, Ga., had previous run-ins with the law, police said.
“Lisa Brown was actually on probation for kidnapping out of the state of Texas,” said Clayton County Police Capt. Richard Gandee . “She had kidnapped her child that she had lost custody of, and the jurisdiction down there had to track her for like three days to find her.”
According to reports Sandra Barnett was on the phone with a friend when Lisa Brown showed up at the front door. Brown was driving a Dodge Durango owned by Buster Barnett. Lisa Brown kidnapped Sandra Barnett.
An alert was put out for the vehicle on Wednesday. Carroll County authorities spotted the Dodge Durango on Thursday and began a chase on Interstate 20 that spanned into Alabama. Alabama State Patrol troopers joined in when the chase crossed state lines. It ended in Alabama. Brown suddenly stopped the Durango. She then pulled out a gun and shot/killed Barnett… and then herself.
The senseless murder of nine black men and women, who were at a bible study, by a white male with white supremacist ties has sparked outrage around the country. This horrific incident took place two days ago in Charleston, SC. An arrest has been made but the name of the suspect will not be entertained on this site. I am posting two songs in memory of the victims. The songs are: “His Eye Is On The Sparrow” by Lauryn Hill & Tanya Blount and “One Sweet Day” by Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men.
The names of the victims are listed below:
State Sen. Clementa Pinckney, 41, pastor of the Emanuel African Methodist Church, Cynthia Hurd, 54; Tywanza Sanders, 26; Sharonda Singleton, 45; Myra Thompson, 59; Ethel Lance, 70; Susie Jackson, 87; the Rev. Daniel Simmons Sr., 74; and DePayne Doctor, 49.
Information is still sketchy at this time but several news agencies are reporting that Zimmerman has been shot. Apparently another man and Zimmerman were involved in this latest incident that happened on Lake Mary Boulevard in Lake Mary Florida.
George Zimmerman is known for the shooting of unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin on February 26, 2012, in Sanford, Florida. On July 13, 2013, he was acquitted of second-degree murder in Florida v. George Zimmerman.
According to reports, officers at the scene are reporting that Zimmerman suffered a minor gunshot to the face.
As indicated before, details are sketchy but different news sources are reporting different things. A “road rage incident” and an ongoing dispute are two of the possible motives floating around at this time. There are also reports that a bullet hole could be seen in Zimmerman’s passenger window.
Reports are that Zimmerman was able to “walk normally” to an ambulance. More information will be forthcoming as soon as it becomes available,
I just had to post this story and video. It is absolutely unbelievable that a competent individual in our society would gun down an individual in this manner. The thing that I am happy about is the fact that someone was there with a cell phone on their camera and taped it all. Otherwise, there probably would have been a different story. The story and video are below and I will not be repetitive and tell you what you’ll be reading if you chose to continue reading. The first video is unedited and the actual footage as taped by the individual who saw the entire incident. I’m still in shock………………..!
WASHINGTON — A white police officer in North Charleston, S.C., was charged with murder on Tuesday after a video surfaced showing him shooting in the back and killing an apparently unarmed black man while the man ran away.
The officer, Michael T. Slager, 33, said he had feared for his life because the man had taken his stun gun in a scuffle after a traffic stop on Saturday. A video, however, shows the officer firing eight times as the man, Walter L. Scott, 50, fled. The North Charleston mayor announced the state charges at a news conference Tuesday evening.
The shooting came on the heels of high-profile instances of police officers’ using lethal force in New York, Cleveland, Ferguson, Mo., and elsewhere. The deaths have set off a national debate over whether the police are too quick to use force, particularly in cases involving black men.
A White House task force has recommended a host of changes to the nation’s police policies, and President Obama sent Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. to cities around the country to try to improve police relations with minority neighborhoods.
North Charleston is South Carolina’s third-largest city, with a population of about 100,000. African-Americans make up about 47 percent of residents, and whites account for about 37 percent. The Police Department is about 80 percent white, according to data collected by the Justice Department in 2007, the most recent period available.
“When you’re wrong, you’re wrong,” Mayor Keith Summey said during the news conference. “And if you make a bad decision, don’t care if you’re behind the shield or just a citizen on the street, you have to live by that decision.”
The shooting unfolded after Officer Slager stopped the driver of a Mercedes-Benz with a broken taillight, according to police reports. Mr. Scott ran away, and Officer Slager chased him into a grassy lot that abuts a muffler shop. He fired his Taser, an electronic stun gun, but it did not stop Mr. Scott, according to police reports.
Moments after the struggle, Officer Slager reported on his radio: “Shots fired and the subject is down. He took my Taser,” according to police reports.
But the video, which was taken by a bystander and provided to The New York Times by the Scott family’s lawyer, presents a different account. The video begins in the vacant lot, apparently moments after Officer Slager fired his Taser. Wires, which carry the electrical current from the stun gun, appear to be extending from Mr. Scott’s body as the two men tussle and Mr. Scott turns to run.
Something — it is not clear whether it is the stun gun — is either tossed or knocked to the ground behind the two men, and Officer Slager draws his gun, the video shows. When the officer fires, Mr. Scott appears to be 15 to 20 feet away and fleeing. He falls after the last of eight shots.
The officer then runs back toward where the initial scuffle occurred and picks something up off the ground. Moments later, he drops an object near Mr. Scott’s body, the video shows.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, the state’s criminal investigative body, has begun an inquiry into the shooting. The F.B.I. and the Justice Department, which has opened a string of civil rights investigations into police departments under Mr. Holder, is also investigating.
The Supreme Court has held that an officer may use deadly force against a fleeing suspect only when there is probable cause that the suspect “poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others.”
Officer Slager served in the Coast Guard before joining the force five years ago, his lawyer said. The police chief of North Charleston did not return repeated calls. Because police departments are not required to release data on how often officers use force, it was not immediately clear how often police shootings occurred in North Charleston, a working-class community adjacent to the tourist destination of Charleston.
Mr. Scott had been arrested about 10 times, mostly for failing to pay child support or show up for court hearings, according to The Post and Courier newspaper of Charleston. He was arrested in 1987 on an assault and battery charge and convicted in 1991 of possession of a bludgeon, the newspaper reported. Mr. Scott’s brother, Anthony, said he believed Mr. Scott had fled from the police on Saturday because he owed child support.
“He has four children; he doesn’t have some type of big violent past or arrest record,” said Chris Stewart, a lawyer for Mr. Scott’s family. “He had a job; he was engaged. He had back child support and didn’t want to go to jail for back child support.”
Mr. Stewart said the coroner had told him that Mr. Scott was struck five times — three times in the back, once in the upper buttocks and once in the ear — with at least one bullet entering his heart. It is not clear whether Mr. Scott died immediately. (The coroner’s office declined to make the report available to The Times.)
Police reports say that officers performed CPR and delivered first aid to Mr. Scott. The video shows that for several minutes after the shooting, Mr. Scott remained face down with his hands cuffed behind his back. A second officer arrives, puts on blue medical gloves and attends to Mr. Scott, but is not shown performing CPR. As sirens wail in the background, a third officer later arrives, apparently with a medical kit, but is also not seen performing CPR.
The debate over police use of force has been propelled in part by videos like the one in South Carolina. In January, prosecutors in Albuquerque charged two police officers with murder for shooting a homeless man in a confrontation that was captured by an officer’s body camera. Federal prosecutors are investigating the death of Eric Garner, who died last year in Staten Island after a police officer put him in a chokehold, an episode that a bystander captured on video. A video taken in Cleveland shows the police shooting a 12-year-old boy, Tamir Rice, who was carrying a fake gun in a park. A White House policing panel recommended that police departments put more video cameras on their officers.
Mr. Scott’s brother said his mother had called him on Saturday, telling him that his brother had been shot by a Taser after a traffic stop. “You may need to go over there and see what’s going on,” he said his mother told him. When he arrived at the scene of the shooting, officers told him that his brother was dead, but he said they had no explanation for why. “This just doesn’t sound right,” he said in an interview. “How do you lose your life at a traffic stop?”
Anthony Scott said he last saw his brother three weeks ago at a family oyster roast. “We hadn’t hung out like that in such a long time,” Mr. Scott said. “He kept on saying over and over again how great it was.”
At the roast, Mr. Scott got to do two of the things he enjoyed most: tell jokes and dance. When one of Mr. Scott’s favorite songs was played, he got excited. “He jumped up and said, ‘That’s my song,’ and he danced like never before,” his brother said.
The KKK is getting a makeover (lol)…… [poor child—must be drunk… or high] according to John Abarr, a member of the Montana Klan, out with the old and in with the new – Klan, that is. He says the organization wants to add more diversity because they aim to build a strong America.
According to the Washington Times, “The new Klan will not focus on race, but rather on reining in the federal government and keeping Capitol Hill from establishing a “new world order” under a unified force.
Abarr has been busy folks. He has apparently got the attention of NAACP rep Jimmy Simmons, who he met last year and apparently convinced that the direction of the “new Klan” might be worth looking into. Simmons commented that if Abarr holds a peace summit next summer, he would “take a strong look” at joining” – this according to USA Today.
There are no words from me…
Sometimes it is not even safe in your own home. Such is the case of this veteran United Airlines flight attendant, DeCarol Deloney-Cain,54 years old. Her teenage daughter, Alyssa Barrett, 17, has been charged with Deloney-Cain’s murder. Barrett apparently stuffed her mothers body in the trunk of her car in Gary, Indiana. Damarius Rashard Wren, Barrett’s 18 year old boyfriend has also been charged in the case. The motive, according to police, is that Deloney-Cain had ordered Barrett to have an abortion.
Both Barrett and Wren are being held without bond.
From CBS News:
According to the criminal complaint obtained by the station, Deloney-Cain was beaten and repeatedly stabbed in the fatal incident. Wren reportedly told police he committed the murder. The victim’s body was then wrapped in trash bags before being stuffed in the trunk.
Barrett had a “fragile” relationship with her mother, according to police. The Tribune reports Wren admitted to Gary police that he killed Deloney-Cain after an argument because she wanted her daughter to abort his baby, the probable cause affidavit states. The body sat in the trunk until officers discovered the car four days after the woman was supposed to have left on a flight. Barrett had been telling people her mother had flown to China, according to the affidavit.
The document also mentions that two other friends of the couple have been implicated in robbing Deloney-Cain and disposing of her body. Their identities have not been revealed at this time.
