MEMORIAL DAY: WHAT A MESS

Memorial day is a time to honor our veterans yet there is at least one community that is outraged at a fraud by one of their neighbors.  The guy in this video is apparently perpetrating a fraud and is now being exposed.  There are a lot of people who are now cynical about giving because of people like this.  A non-profit that built a specially-adapted house for wounded Army veteran Justin Perez-Gorda is now ‘weighing its options’, after  stories of the severity of his injuries are now in question.  Perez-Gorda has been seen walking by several neighbors and has even been caught on film unloading wood from his SUV.  I won’t insult you with anymore of the details as you can watch the video for yourself. Passed: To qualify for the home, Perez-Gorda (right) completed the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs grant process and passed a background check

Home: In December 2013, the organization, which builds specially adapted, mortgage-free homes for severely injured war veterans, presented the family with a customized home in Dripping Springs, Texas

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!!!

Ok, it’s Memorial Day Weekend and some people have scheduled travel, a barbeque, a golf outing, etc. Though all of these activities are a great way to relax over this typically long weekend, many tend to forget or not even know what this day is all about. Memorial Day is celebrated on the last Monday in May, on which those who died in active military service are remembered.
Too many of us fail to realize that our freedom is not so free. There’s been untold carnage paving the way for us to be able to enjoy our casual “freedoms”. As you head out to your particular event, take the time this weekend to remember some of the lives that have been lost. Celebrate and have a great time and please…
DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE!!! As they say, the life you save, may be your own.

As a tribute to those who have lost their lives defending this country, AMERICA, I am posting this video of one of the greatest voices of our time singing the most memorable version of THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER that I’ve ever heard. Whitney Houston first sang her flawless version of our National Anthem before Super Bowl XXV on Jan. 27, 1991 in Tampa, Florida.
In the video above, Whitney sings her heart out for the troops live at her 1991 “Welcome Home Heroes” concert in Norfolk, Virginia, USA.
In her memory and in the memory of those whose blood has been shed to defend our freedoms, I leave you with this post.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!

President Barack Obama made a surprise visit to the troops in Afghanistan to thank them for their service. Their sacrifice to keep this country, The United States of America, safe is certainly unmatched. Though there have been attempts made by other countries to cause us harm, we have not had to deal with the devastation that is seen in a lot of countries. Thanks first of all to God but also to the people who sacrifice their lives daily to keep us safe. Have a safe and HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!
