Okay, okay………… James Corden is at it again. This time he has assembled an all-star cast of celebrities to sing Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas”. Have you thought about what you want? This is a good time for me to tell you what I want for Christmas. First and foremost, I want everyone to realize that the reason that we are celebrating this day is because of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 9:6 King James Bible
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
The gifts are nice but the ultimate gift is JESUS.
Secondly, I want to spend time with my family (acting silly, relaxing, reminiscing, and just doing what we do… As far as gifts, I can’t even imagine anything that I want except for perhaps to win Powerball, or Mega Millions (now that would be real nice.) For those of you who don’t play….don’t judge me!!! lol. You definitely can’t win if you don’t play…
Lastly, I want for all of my wordpress family to enjoy your Christmas however it is that you celebrate. Just be safe and have lots of fun!!!

I got the following letter from Tyler Perry today and I thought I’d share it with all of you. If you don’t know who Tyler Perry is, you must live under a rock because his movies are everywhere. EVERYWHERE. Enough of what I have to say. The purpose of this post is for you to get the message that he’s conveying. Check it out:

Hey TJ,

Sorry I haven’t written one of these in a while. Working the hours that I do and trying to be the best father that I can, I had to pull back on some things. I hope you understand. Anyway, onto the reason that I’m writing.

Everyone who knows me knows that I’m very difficult to shop for. It’s not because I’m choosey, it’s just that I’ve been very fortunate in my life and I usually have all the cool stuff already. So I tell all my friends and family that my gifts of choice are handwritten, from the heart, letters. I love getting them and no one handwrites anything anymore.

Anyway, someone gave me a gift about two years ago, and it wasn’t a letter. I thanked them for it and I put it in the trunk of my car with every intention of opening it when I got home. Well, I got home and got busy. I’m almost embarrassed to say that I forgot about this gift for quite some time. Part of the reason why was because it had fallen into a small bin area in my trunk, practically tucked in a corner, totally hidden.

One day I was looking for something else and I found that gift, this gift that I didn’t even know I had. I opened it and called the person that gave it to me to thank them for such a great gift and to apologize for not calling sooner. She said “you that damn busy?” We had a good laugh. Once I opened it, I realized it was not only something that I didn’t have, but something that I could and would use a great deal. I was super excited. I could tell you what the gift is, but that’s not as important as what I thought about when I found it. This gift that has become so valuable in my life and had been with me all that time, tucked away and hidden. Everywhere I went I had it with me and didn’t even know it, even when there were days that I really could have used it. Days where it would have made my life better, I didn’t know it was there.

With all these thoughts in my head, I couldn’t help but to think about all of us who have gifts inside of us that are tucked away and hidden. Gifts that we have never used, gifts that have been given by God, gifts that are special, gifts that can not only change your life but the world. Yet we leave them hidden, tucked away in the corners of our souls.

As you leave 2016 and enter into 2017, why not commit to searching your soul for all of your gifts, even the hidden ones, and begin to use them, no matter what people say, no matter who judges you for it and no matter what people think? Use the gifts that God has given you to help spread some hope and love and joy to this world. Boy, do we need it.

Merry CHRISTmas and a Happy New Year to you all. Thank you for an amazing 2016.

There are ten more days until Christmas 2016 and I’m celebrating by posting “JOY” by the GEORGIA MASS CHOIR featuring KIRK FANKLIN. Kirk looks much younger in this video and he actually sings on this one. We usually hear him talk through most songs but his vocals seem on point here. I wonder why he doesn’t use his voice more. Thanks to loyal reader A. Renae for sharing this video. Hopefully you’re in the mood for some “JOY”. ‘Tis the season……………..

This is the second time that I have received this award and I am just as delighted and appreciative as the first time. Christian at was kind enough to honor me with this award. If you have not visited his site, you definitely must do so. He is definitely one of my heroes. I am so amazed at his weight loss success story. He transformed his body by losing……..187 pounds. (I think I found some of the weight he lost). That means he was basically carrying around another person. He gives tips to others about losing weight as well. Kudos to him for his continued success. Don’t forget to go and check him out!

“The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to those who inspire and bring sunshine into the lives of their readers and fellow bloggers.”
I was given a series of questions. Here are my answers:

1.Do you believe in giving people second chances?
I do believe in giving others a 2nd chance but… depending on what they have done, I deal with them with a long handled spoon (that means from a distance).

2.Would you give your life for someone else you didn’t know if it saved theirs?
I would have to be in that situation to be able to answer that question.

3.Is there a difference between ‘being in love’ and ‘I love you’?
There is a HUGE difference in ‘being in love’ and ‘I love you.’ HUGE DIFFERENCE!

4.Have you ever been bullied, if yes, when and why?
I have been bullied. Many years ago in middle school I was really afraid of this much bigger guy who bullied and intimidated most of us. One day I decided to stand up to him and that ended my days of being bullied.

5.Do you believe in life after death?
I certainly believe in life after death. Specifically… I believe that God sent Jesus to die on the cross for my sins and that by trusting and believing in HIM this will lead to ETERNAL LIFE in Heaven.
6.If given a chance to, would you have taken a different path in life?
In some ways I would say yes and other ways I would say no. God is the one that sees our end at the beginning. We may not like the different detours as we travel along the way but we are just travelers on a journey. I wish I had done this or that but for the most part, I would say that I would not have taken a different path.
7.Could you kill someone to save your own life?
I really hope to never be put in a situation to take another life. If it meant saving my own life, I think that I probably would.

8.What would you do if you knew tomorrow we would all die?
I would pray and try to stay as positive and calm as possible.
9.If the world rid of all of its clothes and we had to walk around nude, how would you manage?
I would lose a few pounds and strut my stuff….lol.

10.Do you blog for recreation or for work?
I blog for recreation.

Since I received this award, I am going to ask one question to my nominees:

-Without using your name or your occupation, tell us about yourself-

These are a few of the sites that I am nominating for this award. I know that some of them have received this award before but…here we go again!!!

Stay tuned. I am behind on awards and I must complete 2 other awards very soon!!!
