LOVE ISN’T LOVE…

…”til you give it away!  I’ve always loved this quote and am posting it to remind others to give away some love to someone as soon as you can.  It can be as simple as a phone call, an email, a smile, a kind word, or some other simple kind gesture.  in my case, I will soon be giving away some love to a few of my wordpress friends.  Just yesterday, studiotj received another award and this one was from Chape Personal Trainer and is called the Blogger Recognition Award.  https://chapeblog.wordpress.com/2016/03/25/recognition-awards/

Chape’s blog is a great site that is always giving great tips on ways to workout.  Don’t we all need that?  I can speak for myself and say YES!!!

I am ever so grateful for this and will be soon selecting some others to share the love.  If you’re reading this Xena, DaintyM, Virgobeauty, cjstorm, mopane, and others…LOVE………..is in the air!!!

GREAT MESSAGE

praying-hands

I heard a great message

I went to church today

It had such a great impact

I knew I had to pray

Talked about making an impression

And reaching the next generation

Just to positively influence them

Is in fact a great sensation

Some think it’s about the gift of gab

And all they do is talk

Strap on those persuasive shoes

And then begin to walk

I’m sharing with you the concern

And I’ll just do my part

Hopefully… you’ll join in on this mission

And do what’s in your heart

TODAYS INSPIRATION

This is one of my top picks for songs last year.  I do have several more but this one really is awesome!!!   The song is called “How Awesome is Our God” by Israel & New Breed (feat. Yolanda Adams).

EX-CON PRAYS FOR POLICE OFFICER(S)

I found this on Christiantoday.com and thought that it would be apropos today.  Check out this interesting backdrop/juxtaposition to what we normally see in the news.

A papal visit can’t heal these wounds

The last time Edward “Doc” Amey saw Texas City Officer Salvador Chapa he was being arrested on a gun charge. That was eight years ago back when Amey used to be a gangster but recently he found God and since then he’s been living a righteous life. He used to sell drugs; today he stops police and asks if he can pray with them and more importantly, for them.”I have not always been a friend to the police,” Amey told KHOU. “I grew up selling drugs. I’ve been to prison three times.”
According to the news station, Amey’s rap sheet includes six felony convictions and several more misdemeanors. But Amey says all of that is behind him as he lives a prayerful life.”The last week-and-a-half God has really been giving me the urge to pray for police officers,” Amey said.

So when he saw Officer Salvador Chapa he asked if he could pray for him. The officer agreed and the two men held hands, bowed their heads as Amey lead them in prayer. Amey’s friend who had no idea he was going over to pray with the officer snapped a photo of the two men praying. The photo has gone viral on social media.

“I arrested him several years ago on a gun charge,” Chapa said. “And due to that, he ended up doing some time.”

Amey told the news station that he hopes the power of prayer can help change the negative image that people have of young black men and cops.

“They’re used to seeing cops getting killed by young black men or young black men getting killed by cops,” Amey told KHOU. “They’re not used to seeing an ex-con and a cop praying with each other.”

Amey told the officer, “I love you,” at the end of his prayer.

“I love you, too, brother,” Chapa said. “Thank you very much for praying for us.”

THIS WILL RIP YOUR HEART OUT…

You’ve got to see this video.  If you have a heart, you will definitely be moved.  The video is a social experiment that happened in Canada.  The set-up:  A scantily-clad young boy is out on a cold day homeless and begging.  He then gets in his trash bag and lies down on the sidewalk.  You can tell that he is freezing cold.  People continue to walk by him until………..

If this had been an animal, how many people do you think would walk by like they did this young boy.  Are our priorities on correctly?  I know that we see so many homeless people on the street corners begging for money or food and we’ve become a bit desensitized but wow… This video here really puts it all in perspective.  Notice how many people stop to be nosey after the one man stops.

Finding Happiness in Today’s World

When I read this today, I knew that there were others needing to hear the same thing. I always say that too many people are on that radio station WIIFM (what’s in it for me). This post puts it all in the right perspective. Feed someone else today!!!

Good Time Stories

Unfortunately, it seems that thoughts and feelings of people around the world are getting worse and more negative every day. People appear to be more rushed, stressed and self absorbed in their everyday lives more than ever.

Have you ever noticed that the more people focus their lives on themselves, the more miserable they generally become? Their main goal is to FET as many things as they can. Meanwhile, the happiest and most content people are usually the individuals that GIVE to others.

Today’s short story is a tremendous illustration of how each one of us can find a secret to finding the goodness and happiness in life.

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said. “Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.

The Lord led the holy man to two…

THIS WILL WARM YOUR HEART…

Despite the evil that is so prevalent in this world, there are still a lot of goodness that exists. This is another one of those social experiments that goes well and speaks to the kindness of strangers.
“The experiment was filmed by the Norwegian branch of the SOS Children’s Villages International charity as part of a campaign to provide warm clothing for displaced children in Syria”, according to The Nordic Page.

In the video, the majority of bystanders offer their coats or gloves to the boy.

“People should care as much about children in Syria as they care about this boy,” Synne Rønning, the information head of SOS Children’s Villages Norway, told The Local. She also noted that the child was a volunteer who was never in any danger during the filming.
