Sleep On
So many times you’re thought about
So many times we mourn
Our hearts are still yet bleeding
Because they certainly have been torn
The time we had to see your face
Has come and gone exceptionally fast
And yet this love you’ve let us with
For a lifetime… It will last
This heart of gold is now laid to rest
Our memories we hold remarkably near
And though we reverently yield to God’s plan
We still…wish that you were here
Goodbyes are often difficult to declare
Their pain runs ever so deep
And so we’ll never bid you adieu
We’ll just see you…as sound asleep

Today is another day that I found out that someone that I know has died. That now makes about six people in the last six or seven months. Although death is inevitable, it is certainly surprising at times and overwhelming as well. Right now I’m burning a candle for all of those families who are grieving their loved-ones. I’m also wishing eternal peace for the deceased. Above is a poem that I wrote some time ago and I hope it speaks to the heart of those who are trying to cope with their loss.
