michelle

I’m very busy this morning but not too busy to share with you this picture of FLOTUS Michelle Obama’s fashion sense at her final state dinner as a first lady. She is wearing an Atelier Versace gown and simply looks sensational. Her choice of fashion over the years has really set her apart from the majority of first ladies that we’ve seen. She will certainly go down in history as one of the best. If I had time I would post some of her other looks…. but I don’t. Enjoy your day!!!

BLACK HISTORY MONTH REVISITED

This is one of those must watch videos. Meet 106 year old Virginia McLaurin. Mrs. McLaurin was born in 1910 when William Taft was president.  She was married at the tender age of 14 and widowed at 17.  She has lived through 18 American presidents.

Two years ago in 2014, McLaurin received an award in her hometown, Washington, D.C. for volunteering. She spends that time with students who have mental disabilities. When she was given the award, she indicated to a reporter that her one wish was to meet the President of The United States. It took two years but she was invited to The White House this year for Black History Month.

McLaurin was so elated to see President Obama and The First Lady that she broke out in a dance.  This is truly a Black History Moment.

“I always tell people, live the best they know how,” she said. “Don’t steal. Don’t cheat.”

MICHELLE OBAMA BEST LOOK?

100th Annual White House Correspondents' Association Dinner

I’ve seen First Lady Michelle Obama look good, but wow! She really stunned in this gold (it looks white) Marchesa off-the-shoulder gown with an embroidered bodice and a flowy skirt. The outfit was worn recently at the 2014 White House Correspondents Dinner. She represented President Obama and the United States well. I’m sure that she knew that others would be there looking good as well and she certainly stood out amongst them all. Tell me what you think. I think that this is one of her best looks to date.

ELLEN SHUT TWITTER DOWN

I got this story from eurweb.com
ELLEN
*A photo of President Obama hugging his wife Michelle Obama is no longer the most retweeted pic in Tw’istory…thanks to Ellen DeGeneres.
During last night’s Academy Awards telecast, the host got Meryl Streep, then Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Lupita Nyong’o (and her ecstatic brother) to take a selfie in the aisle in an attempt to break Twitter’s retweet record.
Before Cooper pressed the button, Jared Leto, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Kevin Spacey had jumped in it.
POTUS AND FLOTUS
Before the telecast ended at midnight (30 minutes over), the photo had been retweeted more than 2 million times, breaking the record set by POTUS and FLOTUS embracing after his re-election in 2012.
Twitter also sent out an apology because all of the retweeting shut down the service for more than 20 minutes after 10 p.m. ET.

MICHELLE OBAMA STUNS AT STATE DINNER

President Obama And First Lady Welcome French President Hollande To The White HouseUS-FRANCE-DIPLOMACY-OBAMA-HOLLANDEUS-FRANCE-DIPLOMACY-DINNER-OBAMA-HOLLANDE
First Lady Michelle Obama was runway ready in this Carolina Herrera liberty blue gown that she wore to the state diner yesterday. This woman can wear just about anything and make it look amazing. The dinner honored French President Francois Hollande. According to Susan Swimmer, author of “Michelle Obama: First Lady of Fashion and Style”, the formal, ornate style of the sumptuous gown by Carolina Herrera reflected French aesthetics, from the intricate beaded black bodice, to the train and full skirt in a color called liberty blue.
“From the White House to Versailles it’s not that far,” said Swimmer, who is also contributing fashion features editor for More magazine. “It’s much more keeping in a French aesthetic than I’ve seen her wear before. It’s very French in terms of how ornate it is and the use of lace and the velvet sash.”
If I’m to put in layman’s terms what Susan Swimmer is saying is that: Michelle Obama was looking goooooooooooood. Amen! and Amen! President Obama, I have to give it to you, you’ve got great taste.

Michelle Obama chose a Venezuelan-American designer for the gown she wore Tuesday to the state dinner honoring French President Francois Hollande.
