Today is National Siblings Day. The day was founded by native New Yorker, Claudia Evart in 1995 to honor and celebrate siblings. After losing her two siblings early in life in separate accidents, she knew how important siblings could be in our lives. I happen to have a large family and we communicate with each other regularly even though we live in different cities/states. Make sure that you reach out to your siblings today. Check out the song from 1979 by Sister Sledge called “We Are Family.”

Yesterday this was sent to me in my inbox by loyal reader A. Renae. She had seen it on Facebook (which I’m not a part of) and decided to share it with me. The sad part about this is that it rings true for a lot of families and we all must do better and not just with talk. Interestingly enough, I was watching Braxton Family Values the other night (I told y’all that I watch a lot of reality tv)and one of the sisters said to the others “I don’t know y’all anymore, Everybody’s doing their own thing and we don’t talk like we used to.”
How relevant is this in your family….AND what are you going to do about it? Check out what was sent to me below:

“It’s so Sad 😞 But The Truth! #Family ain’t what it used to be no more . It used to be a time when you could go to your grandmother/aunt house to get a plate, see your grandmama/aunt, chill with your cousins and just have fun. Now everybody CHOOSE who they wanna deal with, aunts/uncles CHOOSE which kids to be proud of, father(dads) CHOOSE which kids he want to take care of or which kids he want to deal with. Brothers and sisters treat friends better than family. 🤔 Cousins talk about their own family members and don’t realized their life is no better… Now the only time you see family is during a funeral. This cycle needs to change. 😟😒 Copy & Paste if you agree!!!!
Sometimes we have to be the one to make the change/difference. I intend to be the change. Love my family. All of them . Much love family.”

Okay, okay………… James Corden is at it again. This time he has assembled an all-star cast of celebrities to sing Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas”. Have you thought about what you want? This is a good time for me to tell you what I want for Christmas. First and foremost, I want everyone to realize that the reason that we are celebrating this day is because of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 9:6 King James Bible
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
The gifts are nice but the ultimate gift is JESUS.
Secondly, I want to spend time with my family (acting silly, relaxing, reminiscing, and just doing what we do… As far as gifts, I can’t even imagine anything that I want except for perhaps to win Powerball, or Mega Millions (now that would be real nice.) For those of you who don’t play….don’t judge me!!! lol. You definitely can’t win if you don’t play…
Lastly, I want for all of my wordpress family to enjoy your Christmas however it is that you celebrate. Just be safe and have lots of fun!!!
