JUST FOR LAUGHS…

This was sent to me by loyal reader, A. Renae.  I just had to share it.  These two old men… had it going on.  Too funny.

5TH DROP FROM THE FOUNTAIN

fountain

In the picturesque garden

Amidst the beauty there

Sits the lovely fountain

That is arduous to compare

Springing forth from the fount

And it never appears to stop

Is the prance of the water

And the magnificence of each drop

                                                drop

                                                drop

                                                drop

                                                drop

MEMORABLE MLK, JR QUOTES

mlk6mlk7

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a leader who, like Mahatma Gandhi before him, and Nelson Mandela after him, showed us the way from weakness and division to strength in unity.

He challenged and inspired us to reach deeper within ourselves, despite ourselves, for our best, which sometimes is, simply, better than yesterday. His power endures because it’s rooted in the courage to hold hope and faith in each others potential: “knowing” we can do it… we can be better every day, each in our own way.

On this, the U.S. holiday celebrating his life and legacy, I present you with ten of his extraordinary thoughts on leadership:
•”A genuine leader is not a searcher for consensus but a molder of consensus.”

•”I am not interested in power for power’s sake, but I’m interested in power that is moral, that is right and that is good.”

•”All men are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality.”

•”Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”

•”The time is always right to do the right thing.”

•”We must use time creatively.”

•”Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

•”The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.”

•”Never succumb to the temptation of bitterness.”

•”The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy”

SERENA WILLIAMS: SHE’S BAAAAAAACK!!!

SERENA AGAIN

Bedecked in a hard-to-miss canary yellow, Serena began her quest to defend her Australian Open title.  Her opponent 24 year old, Camila Giorgi wasn’t quite enough to hold off the powerful younger sister of tennis great, Venus Williams.  Serena managed to capture three out of four grand slams in the 2015 season and she certainly seems poised to put on a repeat performance in 2016.  Williams is one grand slam away from tying Steffi Graf’s  historic record. Graf has the most Grand Slams of the Open era with 22.

Serena held off the Italian, Giorgi by beating her in two sets 6-4, 7-5.  I’ll keep you updated on her progress through this tournament.

ARE YOU TOO CLOSE TO THE MIRROR?

mirror
The lyrics of Too Close To The Mirror (recorded by Eddie Ruth Bradford)
says the following:

“GUESS I’M TOO CLOSE TO THE MIRROR
TO SEE WHAT YOU SEE
WHILE YOU SHOWER DOWN YOUR BLESSING
YOUR BLESSING ON ME
NOT ANYTHING I DONE LORD
FOR AS I CAN SEE
GUESS I’M TOO CLOSE TO THE MIRROR
TO SEE WHAT YOU SEE IN ME”

The magnificent feature about a mirror is that we do not have the capacity to see ourselves as we actually are.  We merely get to see a replication and sometimes that reflection is simply what we hunger to see.  How many of us are misleading ourselves?  It is a good thing that GOD sees us for who we really are.  Don’t be deluded!  It’s not about you anyway!!!

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT INVESTMENT (PDI)

Yesterday I reblogged a post and the above video ended up on the 2nd page.  Many people only view what’s in front of them without taking the extra effort to go further. The video is so poignant that I wanted to make sure that you get a chance to see it.  It really speaks volumes to me and I hope to you as well.  Let this set a fire inside of you to get moving on those goals that you keep procrastinating on.  Let me know what you think.

2015 IS FLOATING AWAY… LET IT BE!

Check out Alicia Keys & John Legend singing Let It Be at the (Beatles 50th anniversary).

2015 is going….going…. nearly gone….. Let it be…

Gone… are the mistakes and confusion that life sometimes brings.

Gone… are the people who for one reason or another have walked (or got sent) away.

Gone… are the things that you meant to do.

Gone… are the heartaches of dreams deferred.

Gone…are the feelings of guilt about what you did not already get done.

Gone… or at least what needs to be gone is any negative energy that you’ve been holding onto.

Just let it be!!!

THANK YOU… YOU RAISE ME UP!!!

First of all, a hearty THANK YOU to the constant visitors of this blog.  YOU RAISE ME UP!!!  It has been occasions where I thought to stop blogging but then out of nowhere comes a comment from someone…  There’s been comments made from right here in America, from England or Malaysia, or  from somewhere else around the world that constantly blows me away.  I often ask myself, “how did they find this blog?”  I’m just glad to know that you do find studiotj.wordpress.com and that you take the time out of your busy lives to read.  YOU RAISE ME UP!

I have recently been nominated for 2 blogger awards.  They are the Neat Blogger Award (I’ll tell you more about that one at a later date) and the Sunshine Blogger Award. However, I am still having trouble posting them on my site.  What I’m doing today is accepting both of the nominations and making my own nominations for the Sunshine Blogger Award.

Virgo’s Beauty Blog was kind enough to nominate me for the Sunshine Blogger Award.  I am honored and I accept. YOU RAISE ME UP!
