CAN YOU IMAGINE CARRYING A HEAVY CROSS?

This is one of my favorite songs especially this time of year. It is called “The Old Rugged Cross” being sung by Al Green. This is the first time I’ve heard Rev. Green sing this song and he does a great job. According to Scripture, Christians believe that Jesus was raised back from the dead after three days. He had been crucified on the cross and that death is commemorated on what we call Good Friday. The belief also is that Jesus’ death was in payment for our sins as long as we believe in Him…and I do!!! On Easter Sunday, we celebrate His resurrection. Can you imagine carrying a heavy cross and being crucified on it for someone else’s sins? I can’t imagine but… I AM GLAD HE DID.

THE DEVIL IS BUSY…

It is Sunday evening and supposedly a day of rest but… the devil has been busy today and as usual, he doesn’t care who he uses. The latest victim: The Rev. William Schooler. Schooler, 70 years old, was the pastor of St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio.

According to reports, he was allegedly killed this morning during church services by his 68 year old brother, Daniel Schooler.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has reported that the shooting happened about 12:22 p.m. ET. Witnesses indicate that the violence broke out in the middle of the service while the choir was singing.

Witnesses told NBC affiliate WDTN that Schooler had just walked up to the pulpit when shots rang out. About 20 people were inside the church at the time, and chaos ensued as they escaped the building. This “domestic incident” raised its ugly head in church. But why?  To me, the last place you should go to “kill” someone, should be at church.  Are there no more “sacred” places left.  Like I said earlier, the devil does not care who he uses.  Can we all please have a moment of silence for all parties concerned.  We really need to get busy… doing the work of the Lord.

$188 MILLION POWERBALL WINNER BEING SUED BY HER PASTOR FOR $10 MILLION

 

Powerball winner Marie Holmes became infamous for bailing out her boyfriend Lamarr “Hot Sauce” McDow four separate times. Now the lotto winner is being sued by her pastor for allegedly not fulfilling an oral agreement to give him $1.5 million to build a retreat facility.  This Pastor, Kevin Matthews, is apparently off his medication.  No one owes him any money for anything.  Too many of these “pastors” are after money and will do anything to get it.  According to Black America Web:

The 27-year-old mother of two took home a $127 million lump sum payment following her lottery win in February, 2015.

Pastor Kevin Matthews says he is experiencing emotional and mental distress due to her backing down from a verbal contract they had regarding $1.5 million to purchase land to build a retreat facility.

“Because of the emotional distress and mental stress, they put me through, I had to start taking more medicine for anxiety and depression due to this situation,” says Pastor Kevin Matthews.

Holmes’ attorney, Ruth Sheehan, of The Francis Law Firm, said she was not aware of the situation or the lawsuit. In a recent interview with EURweb, Pastor Matthews says: “God led him to her house and he prayed with her.”

He later met Holmes and ministered to her on several occasions at her new home. He also said he ministered to three other people at her home, and then he eventually asked her to consider giving him money to purchase land to build a retreat. He gave her three different amounts that he needed ($1 million, $1.5 million and $2 million). After several meetings, she agreed to give him $1.5 million to help purchase land to build a retreat center that he says he had been praying about for years.

ALL ABOUT CHRISTMAS

Lay the gifts aside and get with this:  Christmas is not about the shiny red bow on a box.  What many often forget is that this is a great time to minister to others about the miraculous birth of JESUS CHRIST and HIS saving grace.  The meaning is really conveyed here in this awesome video from the movie “The Bible”.  The song “Mary Did You Know” is being performed by Ceelo Green.
