POLICE BRUTALITY AGAIN… ***WARNING VIDEO CONTAINS FOUL LANGUAGE***

I typically don’t post videos with foul language on this site but… this is one of those instances that I want to show the raw, bitter, real truth as to what happens to individuals, typically black men still here in America.  The police are sure to say that there is something that we don’t see on the video.  Surely you can see from what the man is saying even before the main confrontation… he is minding his own business.  Is that a crime?  “This is what we have to go through in Cincinnati, harassment”  29-year-old Charles Harrell said. “You can’t be a black man and enjoy your morning, because the police are going to harass you in Cincinnati, Ohio.”  Filming his trip, Harrell recorded his interaction with police officer Baron Osterman, who can be seen trailing behind Harrell on a bicycle. Sharing that the police officer asked if he “had a problem,” Harrell noted that this was a normal occurrence in his hometown.

This is senseless and I am so happy that cellphone cameras are now available so that we can see firsthand the injustice that is done in this country.  This really makes me angry and I think that something needs to be done with the overzealous cops.  I’m not going to let this ruin my day but this makes no sense whatsoever!

“OH WHAT A TANGLED WEB WE WEAVE…..”

I think we have all heard the Walter Scott quote that says “oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.” This quote really rang true recently in New York. According to police reports, 17 year old Zachary Sam met Phillip Pierre online regarding the purchase of a pair of Jordan Retro 8 sneakers. The two met and Sam got into Pierre’s vehicle. Sam allegedly pulled out a gun and stole the sneakers from Pierre and then walked away. Apparently adrenaline kicked in and 39 year old Phillip Pierre made a U-turn, and struck the teen with his Honda Pilot. The teen was pinned against the fence and his right arm was completely severed.

The teen tried to jump on an oncoming bus. As Sam got on the bus, he was yanked off by Pierre but managed to get away. Zachary Sam escaped the grasp of the elder Pierre and ran home where he collapsed.

Sam and his severed arm were taken by ambulance to the hospital where he is in stable condition. No word yet as to whether his arm was able to be attached.

Pierre, on the other hand/arm (pun intended) has been arrested for attempted murder. It is going to be interesting to see whether Pierre will be convicted of this crime. I’m sure that there are arguments on both sides but personally I feel that this man should be set free.

I’m sure that attorneys are lined up at the door of the teen Zachary Sam to say that the punishment does not fit the crime. I beg to differ. I think that Pierre definitely acted in the heat of passion even though this teen was no longer a threat to him. Pierre had just been robbed and the problem for him is that he took matters in his own hand instead of getting the cops involved. How many of us would have acted the same given the circumstances? Let me know your thoughts on this one. It is certainly going to be the topic of conversation for a while.

Is a pair of Air Jordan’s worth all of this unnecessary drama? I think not.

The web of deceit continues……….

THE GOSPEL OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PART II

This is uncanny to say the least, but real.  Exactly one year ago today , I wrote a post called “The Gospel Of Domestic Violence” (copy and paste this link if you want to read it)  https://studiotj.wordpress.com/?s=The+++++gospel+of+domestic+violence+

At any rate, the post dealt with gospel singer/radio personality James Fortune and his legal issues as it relates to domestic violence.  When I wrote the initial post I was really, really angry with the things that were in the news concerning this artist.  I had enjoyed his music and after some of the things that I read, I didn’t even want to hear anything from him (that was difficult because he has some great music).  Fast forward to one day last week.  I was in my car listening to Darlene McCoy on the “Nightly Spirit” (a gospel radio show) and she interviewed James Fortune.  He came in and wanted to talk about his issues.  I didn’t hear all of the interview but I heard enough to at least change my position.  Fortune, who is responsible for such gospel hits as “Hold On”, “I Believe”, and “Live Through It”, spoke candidly to McCoy about his issues with anger management.

“A lot of times you’ll always say what you’ll never do but when you can’t control your anger anything can trigger and make you do something that maybe you felt like you would never do. For me I ask God, of course I thank God for forgiveness but for me it was more than just forgiving,” Fortune said. “I wanted to be better. I wanted to be changed. I wanted God to do something on the inside of me so that my story, my testimony could help someone else.”  Fortune said he went through professional counseling to work on those issues.
I was ecstatic to hear that he in fact acknowledged his problems, asked for forgiveness, and sought help.  WE ALL HAVE ISSUES and they manifest themselves in different ways.  I’m just glad that he sought help for his and perhaps that can help many others.
Above is the video of James Fortune & Fiya’s “Hold On” featuring Monica and Fred Hammond.

ANN COULTER CHECKS RAVEN SYMONE OVER WATERMELONDREA

Watching this made my day.  I’m not a fan of Ann Coulter but she really puts her foot in the mouth of Raven Symone on this one. In light of Raven’s recent comments regarding her refusal to hire people with certain names, Coulter really shuts Symone…

This is too funny.  If you want to go straight to it, go to the 2:30 mark.

THE CASE OF RAVEN-SYMONE

“Raven is a really Beautiful, Sweethearted, Human Being. I should know. Her Mother and I Love her Very much and will always support her and have her back. Even if sometimes………. she says some dumb S#%T!”

The above comment comes from the father of the attention-seeking Raven Symone. Raven’s latest comment about not hiring people with “ghetto-sounding” names has sparked a firestorm of controversy and there are many who are calling for her firing.

She shocked her fellow co-hosts on this past Thursday’s episode of ABC’s THE VIEW when she stated that she would never put anyone on the payroll with a “ghetto” name.

”I’m not about to hire you if your name is Watermelondrea. It’s just not going to happen.”

RS

Truthfully, it shouldn’t matter if a person’s name is Friedchickenata (since she wants to go there).  No child comes into this world with the ability to name themselves.  Discriminating against another person for any reason, is a form of bullying.

By the way, Raven(who was apparently named after a black bird) has a domestic partner whose name is Az Marie(does that sound ghetto?).  Pardon me if that offends Ms. Az…………………

I guess when one is going through an identity crisis, such as the one that Raven (the black bird) is going through, one can expect that person to say or do anything.

On Sunday she posted what some are calling an apology.  Here it is:

“I’d like to begin by saying that I was not attacking a specific race, but repeating a name that was said in a viral video which has received over 2 million likes,  “My comment was in poor taste. My lack of empathy towards name discrimination was uncalled for….As an equal opportunity employer, I have never discriminated against a name….even though I said I would, it’s not true. I have been denied many jobs because of my skin color, body size, and age. Each time I was rejected, my self-esteem was negatively affected, so I empathize with those who feel victimized by what I said. We would hope that when it comes to hiring, our names, physical appearance, sexual orientation, and age would never outweigh our qualifications, but often times, they do, that’s the truth and it sucks. But I should not be part of the problem, I should be part of the solution.”

Was all of this gibberish that she wrote because of the public backlash she received after her initial comment.  It must have been or she wouldn’t have made the asinine comment in the first place.  Since this is not the first comment that Raven made to distance herself from people of color, someone decided to try to assist her in moving further along.

Loyal reader A. Renae sent me this letter that is circulating on Facebook.  You’ve got to tell me what you think about it.

Dear white people,

As a 35 year old standing member of the Unbothered
Blacks of America Club, I hereby declare, with a unanimous vote from all other
Blacks of substance, that you guys are free to have raven-symoné.

Initially,
we were pleased to have raven be a part of our community. From the precocious
kid we all grew to love on the Cosby show to the self made multi millionaire who
managed to build an entire empire off of being comedic (but goofy), we felt that
we truly had a gem amongst us.

But as time progressed, we began to notice
attitudinal changes and inconsistencies that do not align with the standards set
forth within our community. From asserting that there are several continents in
Africa to now openly admitting that she wouldn’t hire some one with a “ghetto”
name (when her own name is hyphenated, has an “alternate” spelling, and makes
use of an unnecessary accent…all of which could also be deemed “ghetto”),
we’ve absolutely hopped off our last leg of hope with this young lady, and
again, wish to pass her straight on over to you…effective immediately. Since
you guys are far more consistent with inconsistency and discrimination, we feel
that our offer is substantial but do not need to be thanked for it.

We at
UBAC thank you for taking our offer into consideration. Please respond with
proper mailing details for package receipt and sign the enclosed documents,
which offers detailed biographical information on raven-symoné, a letter of
recommendation via stacy dash (a former member of UBAC that we provided you with
several months ago), and detailed information regarding our “absolutely no
fucking returns” policy, all of which are standard with each offer
sent.

Again, no need to thank us for our generous offer. Typical senses of
entitlement lead us to believe we wouldn’t get one anyway.

You’re
welcome,

Unbothered Blacks of America Club

PS: you may find it extremely
beneficial to offer raven-symoné a few lessons on discrimination within the gay
and lesbian community, as her delusions of grandeur may have helped her to
forget.

PATTI LABELLE ASSAULTS FAN

I don’t always agree with the popular opinion on things and I’m okay with that.  It is others that sometime have the problem with some f these opinions.  Okay, here goes:  First of all, I love Patti Labelle’s music.  I’ve been a fan of hers for years and have seen her in concert two or three times.  She really knows how to entertain her audience.  One of my favorite Patti songs is : “If Only You Knew”.

Recently, Patti appeared in Vancouver and asked a few of her fans to come up on stage to perform with her.  One of the fans took his performance a bit far when he began to take off his shirt.  Patti admonished him for being disrespectful and in the middle of that, the fan basically mooned Patti.  She rushed across stage and assaulted the fan and called him the word that rhymes with Mitch…..

SHAME ON YOU PATTI!!!  She absolutely had no right to lay her hands on this fan or anyone else AND he should sue her.  Okay, there we go:  He should definitely file a suit against her for humiliating him in front of this huge group of people.  One things for sure; nobody gets to lay their hands on another individual without that persons’ approval.  You watch the video and tell me what you think.  I love her music, but not this act that she pulled here.  Let me know what you think.

JAYWALKING CAUSED ALL OF THIS?

******  WARNING–THIS VIDEO CONTAINS GRAPHIC LANGUAGE ******

I’m really at a loss for words regarding the bit that I saw in this video. Apparently this kid jaywalked and was confronted by the police (confronted is used lightly considering the circumstances here).  AND… then everything goes completely awry.  Why would anyone arrest a MINOR for a such a minor offense as jaywalking.

Via CBS-San Fran

A YouTube video posted Wednesday shows a Stockton Police officer hitting a teenager with a baton after he was allegedly stopped for jaywalking.

The video, posted by YouTube user Edward Avendaño under the username “Stockton Port City” starts with a bystander repeatedly yelling “It’s a f***ing kid” as an officer is seen using his baton to push a teenager into a landscaped perimeter.

The teenager pushes back as the officer and yells, “Stop resisting arrest!” while a crowd gathers. The teenager then grabs the officer’s baton, yelling “Get the f**k off me.”

The officer begins to swing at the teenager’s face and strikes him, a strong enough impact that the teen grabs his face in pain. The officer then orders him to get on the ground.

I’m keenly aware that some cops are big bullies and overzealous.  Without seeing how this entire scene began, I can’t really draw any more of a conclusion.  This is a story that we’ll definitely be hearing more about.  I’m waiting for more information on this to unfold.

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE? YOU BE THE JUDGE

ervinervin1

Truthfully answer this question.  Imagine this scenario:  You have two kids who are now in their late teens and early twenties.  One day, they try to murder you and your spouse and then attempt to burn the house down.  You and your spouse have very visible injuries.  Could you forgive these MONSTERS???

BROTHERS

I did in fact call them MONSTERS! I brought this up because the Georgia parents who are in this situation, Yvonne and Zachery Ervin, recently spoke to the media and said that they forgive their sons for carrying out this heinous act against them. I originally posted their story on September 7, 2015.   “Those were not our boys that did that to us. We did not raise our boys that way,” Yvonne Ervin told Channel 2’s Tony Thomas. “We understand there are consequences for what they did. They understand that, but we’re just praying that the world forgives them in the same way that we forgive them,” said Mrs. Ervin. The young men are accused of drugging their parents, assaulting them, and trying to blow up their home which is located on Forbes Trail in Gwinnett County.

One of the Atlanta-area brothers accused of trying to kill their parents told investigators he had schemed to murder them “since he was 11 years old,” police said. Mrs. Ervin went on to say that “we forgive our sons and love them unconditionally. And we had to make sure that they understand that.” Okay, one thing I do know a lot about is forgiveness.  I also know that you can forgive someone without ever trusting them again.  I can’t imagine the parents ever letting these MONSTERS back into their home again.  As a matter of fact, if I were them, I would consider moving without ever letting them know where I moved.  These MONSTERS tried unsuccessfully to kill their parents the first time, and the parents may not be so lucky if their “sons” get a second chance to finish what they started.

I recently had a conversation with a few co-workers about this situation and several points were brought up that I had not considered. Is there something more sinister going on here that the media has not yet touched upon? Were these boys abused…sexually? Were they mentally abused?  Were they on drugs? These were just a few of the questions that my co-workers brought up. I really have no idea and I certainly do not want to victimize the victims. But…..who are the real victims here? I want to know your thoughts about this horrific situation.

NYC ARREST VIDEO OF JAMES BLAKE (FORMER TENNIS STAR)

This is one of those stories along with an accompanying video that makes me sick to my stomach.  My hope and my wish is that James Blake will sue  the arresting officer and the NYC Police Department.  There are too many ways that this incident could have been avoided but instead… this young man was humiliated and cuffed because this overzealous (I could include more adjectives) officer did not do due diligence.  He could have easily identified himself and… questioned Blake until he was satisfied that this was/was not the suspect that he was looking for.

Here is a picture of Blake and the suspect that they were seeking.

Blake is on the left and the unidentified suspect’s picture is on the right.

Check out the story from the Associated Press below:

NEW YORK (AP) — Video surveillance released Friday of the mistaken arrest of former tennis star James Blake shows a plainclothes police officer who has a history of excessive-force complaints grabbing Blake by the arm and tackling him to the ground.

Officer James Frascatore’s rough arrest of the hometown favorite outside a midtown Manhattan hotel on Wednesday prompted apologies from New York City’s mayor and police commissioner.

Frascatore was the subject of four civilian complaints in a seven-month period of 2013, and he has been named in two federal civil rights lawsuits as being among a group of officers accused of beating, pepper spraying and falsely arresting two Queens men in separate incidents that year.

The surveillance footage shows Blake standing against a silver post outside the Grand Hyatt New York when Frascatore approaches suddenly, grabs Blake, spins him around and throws him to the ground.

Stephen Davis, the NYPD’s top spokesman, released the video Friday and said Blake was interviewed by internal affairs detectives Thursday night.

Frascatore, who has four years on the force and previously worked as a police officer in Florida, was the officer who arrested Blake, a law enforcement official confirmed Friday. The official was not authorized to publicly discuss the case and spoke on condition of anonymity.

The official said one of the complaints was exonerated, another dismissed, a third — for refusing to identify himself — was substantiated, and the status of the fourth was unclear.

In a statement, Blake said that “while I continue to believe the vast majority of our police officers are dedicated public servants who conduct themselves appropriately, I know that what happened to me is not uncommon.”

Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner William Bratton said in a statement that the city “extends deepest apologies to Mr. Blake” and that both the mayor and police commissioner “stand ready” to meet with Blake.

“The incident remains under investigation to determine what contributed to the errors made, who may be held accountable, and what we can learn to prevent these mistakes from being repeated in the future,” they said.

Bratton said earlier Friday that investigators were reviewing the officer’s disciplinary record “understanding that some of those issues were exonerated.” He didn’t elaborate.

A number listed for Frascatore, 38, wasn’t in service Friday and a spokesman for his union declined to comment on the claims.

Patrick J. Lynch, head of the police officer’s union, said the officer was apprehending “what he had every reason to believe was an individual who had just committed a crime.”

He said he regrets any embarrassment or injury suffered by Blake as a result, but the apprehension was made “under fluid circumstances where the subject might have fled, and the officer did a professional job of bringing the individual to the ground.”

Frascatore’s four complaints to the Civilian Complaint Review Board, which investigates claims of police misconduct, are more than average for an officer. Three-fourths of the department has two or fewer complaints against them, according to the board’s data. The complaints against Frascatore were first reported by radio’s WNYC.

In one of the federal lawsuits, Warren Diggs claims Frascatore and other officers arrested him in the driveway of his own home in January 2013 as he attempted to go inside to get his ID, hitting him on the head so hard he fell down and then pepper spraying him, court papers show. City lawyers are reviewing that case, a spokesman for the Law Department said.

Four months later, Stefon Luckey claims Frascatore was among a group of officers who punched him, pepper-sprayed him and hurled racial epithets at him outside a Queens deli, the lawsuit said. Luckey’s lawyer, Philip Hines, said his client texted him after Frascatore’s name became public: “Everything done in the dark eventually comes to light.”

Lawyers for the city “are in the early stages of litigation,” in that case, Law Department spokesman Nick Paolucci said.

Blake, 38, was arrested after he was misidentified as being involved in a fraudulent credit card scheme that was using the hotel for deliveries, police have said.

Blake had been ranked as high as No. 4 in the world and reached three Grand Slam quarterfinals. Before retiring after the 2013 U.S. Open, he won 10 singles titles, most recently in 2007.

Twice he reached the quarterfinals at the U.S. Open, a hometown tournament that seemed to bring out his best play.

___

The story has been corrected based on information from a law enforcement official to show that the officer received four complaints, not five, from the New York City agency charged with investigating allegations of police misconduct.

WENDY’S EMPLOYEE ARRESTED FOR INDECENCY

It is never good to argue with people in a place where you are ordering food.  Too often, there are those who are so evil that will do just about anything to get revenge on another person.  My position has always been that if there is any type of disagreement with anyone at an establishment, especially where I am eating, I will leave immediately and cancel that order.  Loyal reader A. Renae sent me the following article from News8.com:

News 8 –  A Maryland woman, Lakisha Hunter, was arrested and led away in handcuffs after arguing with customer Lashay Jones over their child’s father not coming to see the baby. Hunter then went to the back of the restaurant and used discharge from her vagina to place the mayonnaise on Lashay’s bacon cheeseburger deluxe.

Wendys NEWS

Apparently the two women, who share the same father, have been at each other’s throats for a while. Lashay claims she had Lamont first and Lakisha ruined her family. Lakisha’s coworker, who chose to remain anonymous, is the one who told the manager that she witnessed Lakisha add her “special sauce.” Lashay was admitted to Prince George’s Hospital after digesting the burger.

As Lakisha was led away in handcuffs, she released a statement to reporters: “I told that ho to quit playing with me! She said extra mayo so that’s what she got, now ask that b*tch what p**sy taste like.” Lashay plans to file a civil lawsuit against Lakisha as well as Wendy’s, she is asking for $5 million in damages. Lakisha is being held at the P.G. County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
