Okay first of all, I’m not posting this to be mean spirited BUT someone sent me this picture and I thought I’d share it. Also, anyone who knows me knows that I am not a big Bernie fan. He already knows that he WILL NOT be the nominee but he has an audience and he won’t sit down. At any rate, this is just a bit of Monday humor. Enjoy it or……keep it moving!

This is the 20th anniversary of National Poetry Month. What better way to commemorate than with this poem by one of my favorites, Langston Hughes.
How many of us remember this classic from Prince originally released in 1984 on the “Purple Rain” album? This is one of those songs that has easily stuck in my mind from this legendary artist. I’ve seen many news reports that show many people riding by his Minneapolis studio. Fans have also began dropping flowers by the studio as well. He is certainly music royalty that is now gone………. He was found dead today in an elevator. Now….HE HAS BEEN ELEVATED TO ANOTHER LEVEL!!! RIP PRINCE!

“Prince hit up a local pharmacy hours before he died — the 4th time he visited this week — indicating his health was far worse than the simple flu.

Our sources tell us Prince had frequented the Walgreens for years — but last night, people at the store were concerned because he looked much more frail and nervous than usual.
As we previously reported, Prince’s team told the media he was suffering from the flu. It seemed odd, because his private jet had to make an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois last Friday, just 48 minutes from his home.
Prince was hospitalized … but was discharged after only a few hours. Our sources in Moline told us at the time they felt Prince left the hospital way too soon because he was “not doing well” and needed further medical care.
On Saturday, the day after he was released from the hospital, Prince took the stage at a dance party near his home and curiously said, “Wait a few days before you waste any prayers.”
Prince died Thursday morning. Officials are investigating the cause of death.
I was absolutely shocked moments ago when I looked on my computer and saw that the legendary singer PRINCE had died. I really can recall early in his career, I did not particularly care for his music. UNTIL…. as a police officer I worked his PURPLE RAIN concert for three nights in a row. This man was nothing less than electric. I had never seen a performer all over the stage like this man was. Some of the hits that he is responsible for includes: “1999”, “Little Red Corvette”, “I Wanna Be Your Lover”,”Do Me Baby” and many more…. The details of his untimely death are sketchy at this time but as soon as I know more I will give you an update.
Please look at the above video and tell me if you could possible beat this kid after he prays soooooo hard for God to help him. My only suggestion: Lady, please find another way to punish this kid. He’s definitely trying his best to keep from getting what seems as inevitable.

In Beaumont Texas, this teacher decided that she could actually slap (5 times) and berate a student with no repercussions. In walked…social media and now 63-year old Mary Hastings, a Geometry teacher at Ozen High School, has been arrested and placed on administrative leave.
Information has not been released about what made the teacher so angry but she can be heard in the video saying, “…because you’re stopping him from graduating you idiot @$%^&.”
Another student recorded the exchange and indicated that the incident happened last Friday. Nakisha Burns, Beaumont Independent School District spokeswoman, indicated that “BISD does not condone employees abusing any child and will not tolerate such conduct.” She also stated that “the teacher was immediately removed from the classroom and placed on administrative leave pending action on her contract.”
After being booked in the Jefferson County Jail on a misdemeanor charge of assault, Hastings was released on a $2500 bond.
While I am cognizant that kids can be a handful, in my opinion Hastings should never be allowed in another classroom. If this were my child that she had slapped and berated……….I would be the one facing multiple charges….. (just saying.)
I can’t say that this world has changed. What I will say is that because of social media and the current level of surveillance that exists, we are able to see more and more of the out of this world acts that we wouldn’t ordinarily see. Consider the above video. Who would ever think of going to a funeral home and stealing a ring off of a dead persons’ finger. Well… this woman more than thought about it. SHE DID IT!!! In Odessa Texas, the family of Louise Hicks were surprised to learn that their deceased mom’s wedding ring had been taken off of her finger. Video from Sunset Funeral Home showed that a woman came in to the funeral home and took the ring from the deceased lady’s finger… then left. I wished that somehow the dead lady would have come back to life, if only momentarily, to say “Leave my ring alone.” That would have been sensational!!!
OMG!!! I can’t believe that I’ve got 2 great kid singers in one day. This young man was on Steve Harvey’s Little Big Shots last night. Check him out. I’ve got to go.
Once you listen to 12 year-old Beau Dermott on this episode of Britain’s Got Talent that aired Saturday night (April 9), you’ll definitely see why she’s “Defying Gravity”. This little girl has a BIG FUTURE ahead of her. She received a standing ovation from the entire crowd… and rightly so.
