SUNDAY INSPIRATION

To kick off our Thanksgiving week, I am posting this Pre-Thanksgiving inspiration from both 1 Corinthians 1:4-5 and Psalm 100:4-5. I also must ask: What are you thankful for? Let me hear from you with your responses. If you are traveling this week, please be extra careful. There are a lot of people who travel during this time and the death toll mounts. MARION BARRY DEAD @78

One of the most controversial politicians of our time, Marion Barry, is dead. Barry was 78 years old. He was first elected mayor of Washington, DC in 1978. He gained international attention in 1990 when he was videotaped in a FBI sting smoking crack with a female friend in a DC hotel. “That B#$%^ set me up” were Barry’s words that some repeated for years. Despite being caught in the FBI sting, Barry who faced many charges, was only convicted of a single count of drug possession. He was sentenced to six months in jail. This conviction did not stop Marion Barry. Barry later returned to politics where he won a city council seat and ultimately won as mayor… again in 1994.
“Marion Barry changed America with his unmitigated gall to stand up in the ashes of where he had fallen and come back to win,” poet Maya Angelou said in 1999. Condolences go out to the family as they deal with his lost.

This is hilarious. Thanks A. Renae for sending it. One thing about this lady… She was telling the truth. How many times do you hear people in church testilying? Yeah, you heard me correctly… Some of these people get up and testily! Don’t let that be you.

WAIT A MINUTE: REALLY?…..

The KKK is getting a makeover (lol)…… [poor child—must be drunk… or high] according to John Abarr, a member of the Montana Klan, out with the old and in with the new – Klan, that is. He says the organization wants to add more diversity because they aim to build a strong America.
According to the Washington Times, “The new Klan will not focus on race, but rather on reining in the federal government and keeping Capitol Hill from establishing a “new world order” under a unified force.
Abarr has been busy folks. He has apparently got the attention of NAACP rep Jimmy Simmons, who he met last year and apparently convinced that the direction of the “new Klan” might be worth looking into. Simmons commented that if Abarr holds a peace summit next summer, he would “take a strong look” at joining” – this according to USA Today.
There are no words from me…
