In case you haven’t heard, Oxygen is bringing back the controversial show, “Preachers of LA” for a 2nd season. Several people including TD Jakes and Kirk Franklin have spoken out negatively about this show. Obviously they are entitled to their own opinions, yet there are many who disagree with the opinions that they have expressed. If you get a chance, watch the show for yourself. Personally I think that you certainly can/will get ministered to as you see this show. You get an opportunity to see certain aspects of the realness that these ministers encounter on a daily basis. Too often these ministers are placed on a pedestal and we know that no one on this planet belongs on a pedestal… no one!!! Check out the short trailer for the new season below. IT’S NOT OVER
I know it’s been a few days since I’ve posted. I’ve just been a little busy. Check this out for your mid-week inspiration.
It’s not over…
I’ll see you soon.
FOR YOUR INSPIRATION
It has been storming a lot lately but I hope you know that this song is not talking about the kind of storms where you see rain and hear thunder. I trust you can understand the metaphor here in this song. If not, email me and I will see that you definitely understand. I hope you enjoy Greg O’Quinn’s ” I Told The Storm”.
BILLIONAIRES CLUB
I’m happy to post this story. Michael Jordan has been doing his thing for a while now and his efforts have paid off. Arguably one of the greatest basketball players ever, he is now… a billionaire. I read this story earlier and of course, had to share it with you. Check it out below. I am really happy for his success!!!
According to Forbes.com
By Mike Ozanian
Michael Jordan is now a billionaire.
In February, my colleague and the Dean of athlete earnings, Kurt Badenhausen, pegged Jordan’s annual earnings at $90 million and his net worth at $750 million. But I have learned from sources familiar with the Charlotte Hornets that the former NBA great has increased his stake in his basketball team to 89.5% from 80% during the past several months.
Jordan first became an investor in the Hornets (then the Bobcats) in 2006 and became the controlling owner in 2010 when he bought out Robert Johnson for $175 million. Sports bankers say the Hornets are presently worth between $600 million and $625 million. The Milwaukee Bucks sold for $550 million in May, and they are considered the least valuable team in the league.
More on Forbes: The Highest-Paid Retired Athletes
Our net worth figure for Jordan uses the $600 million figure. The Hornets have $135 million of debt, which makes Jordan’s equity in the team worth $416 million. After subtracting all the cash Jordan has invested in the team, we estimate his net worth outside of the Hornets to be $600 million, giving him a net worth of a $1 billion.
Welcome to the billionaires club, Mr. Jordan.
GIFTED BEYOND BELIEF
Some people are just gifted beyond belief. This kid is one of them and trust me, his name will be known worldwide. I saw this kid on America’s Got Talent a week or so ago and I just had to share this clip with you. You will certainly be impressed. He’s just nine years old.
SING!!!!!!
WHITES ONLY?
Sometimes… you have to see or hear things to believe them. Two men working at a Tennessee cotton warehouse have joined forces to file a discrimination complaint against their employer. After enduring discriminatory practices for some time, one of the men decided to record some of the things that were happening (he was smart enough to record it).
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution noted that “recording audio without consent is legal in Tennessee.”
Amongst other things, on the recording, these two employees were told that the water fountain and the microwave were for whites only.
Antonio Harris and Marrio Mangrum say that their former supervisor at Atkinson Cotton Warehouse in Memphis regularly discriminated against them. WREG reports that in the complaint the supervisor is said to have blatantly outlined his stance on segregation; telling the two to “think like a white man” and calling them “monkeys.” The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is mediating with the warehouse owner to hammer out a possible settlement. Check out the news report below. Of course I’m just shaking my head. This is 2014!!!
NOT… THE WORD!
Some of the things that you hear from the pulpit nowadays is totally ridiculous!!! What WORD are some of these preachers preaching from? It is certainly NOT THE WORD OF GOD!!! When I saw this video, it really saddened me. And to think that a lot of these people seemed to really enjoy what the pastor was saying. I just want you to listen for yourself and let me know if it’s just me or this………………………. is this totally out of order. I think that some of these people get up on that pulpit for entertainment purposes only.
