As the debate continues, so do the numbers for the Affordable Healthcare Act, or Obamacare as so many call it. With over 8 million already signed up for the controversial bill, the White House and many others are calling this bill an overwhelming success. The 8 million enrollees have surpassed the initial forecast by at least 1 million.
“The repeal debate is, and should be, over,” President Obama recently declared. “We’ve been having a political fight about this for five years. We need to move on to something else.”
Although conservative Republicans are still vowing to keep this debate alive, the numbers speak for themselves.
According to the LA Times, “just 12.9% of adults nationally lacked coverage in the first half of April, initial data from the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index indicate. That’s down from 18% in the third quarter of 2013, just before the new marketplaces opened for business”.
Those are staggering numbers and there is still room for debate?
The final surge in enrollment reportedly came from California with over 200,000 enrolled in the final two weeks of open enrollment. Let me hear your feedback on Obamacare. Is it here to stay?
