One of my favorite morning news personalities, Robin Roberts, got an early Christmas present. According to reports, ABC News has re-upped with Roberts on a long-term deal worth between $10 and $14 million dollars. See the article below.
Sources told the Post that the “Good Morning America” co-host closed on a new long-term deal worth anywhere between just shy of $10 million and $14 million.
Reports that ABC News has re-upped with Roberts come as little surprise. With her as co-host, the show de-throned “Today” as the country’s number one morning show last year. (“Today” has been gaining some ground, though, halving the crucial ratings gap between the two shows in the A25-54 demo over the last year.)
She is widely popular with audiences and, just as importantly, has gone through the fire alongside ABC over her health. The host was diagnosed with MDS and underwent a bone marrow transplant last year. “GMA” followed her treatment and subsequent recovery closely until her return to the anchor desk in February.
