Though Winter failed to go to sleep this early Spring weekend, the roar of the Tiger still managed to get louder. All in one weekend, Tiger got a check for $1.116 million, an eighth blue blazer, and he managed to reclaim the world No. 1 ranking for the first time since Oct. 31, 2010. Tiger’s performance was reminiscent of some of his glory days.
And the numbers, for history’s sake, are roaring as well. Tiger is at 37 (that’s just four wins short of tying Jack Nicklaus’ major championship record). He is also five wins short of tying Sam Snead’s record for PGA Tour victories. With the Master’s just a few short weeks away, I can hear the roar in the distance.
